    Oblivion Mote

    Name: Oblivion Mote
    Circles: Death / Summoning
Description: Consume a target location on the battlefield with raw oblivion, making it impassible to all but fliers for the rest of the fight.

Why would flying units be immune to oblivion?

Presumably because they could fly over the hole this spell makes.

Should units with death immunity be allowed to go through too ?

I envision this as looking like an Oblivion gate. Nothing can pass through, and frankly, I think it'd be cool if it had a random chance of striking anyone in a (small, 1-2 square) radius for lightning damage.

Precisely this. Fliers don't care about the ground being gone.

The lightning thing sounds cool to me too, if people like it.

I was looking at this as a glob of "oblivion" that basically hovered in mid-air; not something that sits on the ground. That would be a good reason for flyers to be affected too. Sure, you could _theoretically_ fly over it, but that would bring a whole different dimension to the battle board. (See what I did there?)

OK, but I agree with WyldeRhide that if oblivion had enveloped the tile, then anything flying into it would fly into oblivion as well.
"Create Void" would be the harmless version, IMO.

A nasty bit of active oblivion works for me.

    Or "Bottomless Pit"
