Death's Mentalism list needs multiple spells that challenge Will save or we might as well scrap Mind Wrack.
Not necessarily: Mind Wrack also synergies with undead summons (abilities that test Will), other Death spells, not to mention when we take circles in Mentalism, not Death.

Compel is definitely a Water, not a Death spell. Same with Possession, but it's much closer. I like Nonchalance, though the name needs a radical change.

-1 to "needing" Total War and Evil Presence, those spells are meh at best

Tier 2: Black Sleep (T, unit must save or be paralyzed by fear), Evil Presence (S, cancels any effects from religious buildings for one city)
Tier 3: Subversion (S, needs rename, worsens a SL's relations with other wizards)
Tier 4: Dementia (S, a SL loses some/a lot/all of his Research progress)
Tier 5: Cruel Unminding (S, a SL loses some Casting skill)
Tier 6: Terror (T, each unit must save or be paralyzed by fear)
Tier 7: Total War (S, prevents any treaties)
Tier 8: Tendrils of Destruction Iteration Two (S, enemy cities are cursed drastically at the expense of own citizens and unrest)
This is the list I like best so far. I can't believe how many effects fit in this circle combo. It's as bad as Death/Destruction.

If Black Sleep is just making people be paralyzed by fear instead of actually falling asleep, I think it should be renamed.

Also, if religious buildings protect against corruption like we've discussed, does Evil Presence keep them from doing that as well as blocking off the mana and unrest prevention?

    Fair enough. Any ideas?

I absolutely love the word 'torpor'. I don't know why. It just sounds good. Torpor.

Anyhow, I think we don't need Black Torpor. Just Torpor.

    Torpor.

    Torpor.
Yeah I like that word too. The 'Black' is redundant, it's evocative as it is.
