    'Stab them in the front!?! Are you mad?'


    Description- Rogue

    Born in the slums of a large port city, Sydow was orphaned at an early age after an outbreak of plague. Finding pick-pocketing, begging, house-breaking and 'Enforcing' to be a practical education as well as a decent living, Sydow found it also attracted unwanted attention from the Law and agents of those he had robbed. The confines of City life had suddenly lost it's appeal...

    Abilities- Sneak, Sneak Attack, Throwing Weapons (Knives)

    Traits-

    Armed with a Dirk and Throwing Knives, Sydow prefers picking off weakened opponents after getting in close with his stealth skills. Though he can handle himself in a fight, his light armour means sustained combat is not recommended.

    A couple Unhallowed ideas;

    Julian Skyland - Unhallowed Paladin;
    A nobleman's son, Julian was a shining example of Paladin-ry who gave his life while single-handedly defending one of the smallest towns in his father's lands against marauding monsters. The monsters were too many, though, and left him for dead... but his devotion was so great that as they approached the town he was guarding, he stood up again, and fought on until he was the only one standing. Alas, this has left him cursed to walk the land among the Unhallowed, but though his body rots without the sustaining Negative Energy of his new kind, his spirit remains uncorrupted.

    Abilities: Indomitable Will, Inspire Courage, Channel Energy; Bolster Undead at higher level
    Perks: Undead, Divine Grace

    (I think the "Undead Torin" idea annoys too many people, but I still like the idea of an Unhallowed Paladin quite a bit -- and I think this one really breaks away from the idea that Undead necessarily equals Evil.)



    Vanthrax - Undead Sorcerer
    Vanthrax went from the village scapegoat, to the village bully, to the village's Tyrannical Overlord in the space of six months as his magic manifested. He was eagerly positioning himself, in fact, to continue his meteoric rise to become, perhaps, a full Sorcerer Lord himself. A bit too eagerly, though; he drew too much of the wrong kinds of attention, and was summarily dispatched and brought back as an undead servant. His natural power, though, kept his mind intact, and though he is now forced to serve others, he does so reluctantly.

    Abilities: Caster, Corrupt
    Perks: Undead

    ('Course, that's not to say there shouldn't also be some real jerks among them...)


    Ixi - Ghostly Bard
    Ixi is a mischevious spirit who has long since forgotten where she really came from. She makes up a new story every time someone asks. Personally, she's very weak, but she is also hard to find and harder to hurt - almost more of a haunting melody on the battlefield than an identifiable shape. She makes an excellent spy.

    Abilities: Caster (low), Frightening Tune, Invisibility, Inspire Courage
    Perks: Ethereal, Undead, Evasion

    Note: Ethereal is a bit strong for the Hero level, but Ixi has virtually no physical stats - she uses Frightening Tune and Inspire Courage to bolster the troops that she's with, and can cast some minor spells, but mostly, she's meant for world-map exploration - scouting and spying. If you can get some levels into her, though, her Caster could build up to something more exciting by the mid-game.

    Krieg


    Kriegs mother was raped by a troll, and died giving birth to him, due to his size. During the pregnancy she made her husband promise to bring Krieg up with as much love, as if he were his own child. He kept his promise, and raised Krieg as best he could, in a small human town. Obviously Kriegs huge stature and fierce looks, drew unwanted attention to himself, and he was shunned and bullied generally until his teenage years, were his sheer size was enough to scare all but the most foolhardy, or drunk citizen, into silence.


    Once old enough Krieg enlisted in the city guard, and quickly rose through the ranks. Leaving after 20 years service, to start a successful career, as a highly paid, hired mercenary.


    Troll blood : Krieg has troll blood in his veins, meaning he can regenerate wounds, to some extent, as long as the wounds caused, are not by means of a flaming attack.


    Krieg wields a huge 2 handed axe, and is reputed to be able to split a man in two, with a single mighty blow.


    Krieg wears full plate mail, but refuses to wear a helmet of any kind, he finds them stifling, to his battle senses.

    Mantiss was a soldier in the Quarinthian royal guard, when his nation was wiped from exsistence. by a rival Myrodant faction. He had his wings clipped, and was sold into slavery, and destined for the fighting pits of absinda. Years past and instead of dying an unknown death in the arena, Mantiss excelled at killing, and became a firm favourite of the crowd, with his exotic 4 sword fighting style. He eventually won his freedom, but was lost without a nation to fight for, or the crowd of the arena, to please. He soon found a purpose to life, again in employment, in the various armies across the planes, fighting for one factions cause or another. Whatever the cause he cared not, just so long as there was a battle to be fought.

    Uglash Halftusk


    Uglash was sick and tired of Garlag One Eyes, ineffectual diplomatic treaties with the neighbouring orc clans. Their lands were being slowly swallowed up by their neighbours, through lack of action. This had to end. A Clan meeting had been called in the longhall, Uglash would make his move in front of all the tribe, the old way.




    Garlag Sat on the high chair, spouting meaningless rubbish about keeping the peace between the tribes, there were groans of dismay, and rumblings of resentment from the gathered crowd. Uglash, listened a moment then pushed his way through the crowd, shouting “enough” at the top of his lungs. The hall was silent and all eyes fell on Uglash. Standing tall and proud, Uglash pointed at the chief and said” your reign has come to an end, Garlag. I take this tribe by force of arms, the old way”. There was silence, and Uglash advanced upon Garlag. His Brutish bodyguard came at Uglash who barely looked at him as he buried both axes into his body and carried on walking as the bodyguard fell to the floor. Garlag had risen from his seat and drawn his weapon. Uglash charged him unarmed avoiding Garlags sword swipe, he pinned him to the wall. Latching quickly onto Garlags exposed neck, with his teeth. Uglash began to chew. He felt the hot gush of blood fall over his face and down his throat, After the struggling and gurgling had stopped, Uglash let the body fall, and turned around to face the tribe, dripping blood. “I claim this tribe, by force of arms, are there any who would challenge me?” A piece of Garlags windpipe fell off Uglashes chin, onto the floor. The longhall remained silent...




    Uglash, has risen to be War Chief of the Grey wolf clan, through force. Wielding twin axes, Uglash is feared within the tribe for his martial skill and strength.


    Uglash is a great believer in earning a great reputation as a legendary warrior, to cement his place of honour, on his ancestors, high table in the afterlife.

    Brizzek The Ranger



    Description- Fighter or Ranger Class

    Brizzek is the daughter of a deposed Orc Warlord that narrowly escaped the knife of a usurper. Finding few places to turn, she joined up with a clan of Tundra Rangers and devoted her life to the conservation of the creatures there. Her Temper meant she eventually outstayed her welcome and sought life outside the confides of the snowy wastes.

    Abilities- Point Blank Shot, Cold Resistance, Rage

    Traits-

    Armed with a Bow and Axe, Brizzek has both ranged and melee capability, as well as being physically hardy. Her light armour makes prolonged melee inadvisable, however.

    Eltar the Sage

    Description- Wizard Class
    Eltar is a halfling wizard of no small reputation, who has taken advantage of his races knack for storytelling to travel all over the seven worlds and beyond, collecting tales from every race. The knowledge and wisdom he has collected in these travels far outweighs his magical potency.

    Abilities-Spell Penetration, Sage
    With the sheer mass of collected information within his memory, Eltar is a master at penetrating enemy resistance to his magics, as he has memorized every weakness legends can divulge about them. Beyond that, his sheer knowledge of ancient lore allows him to act as a legendary sage, generating knowledge equal to an entire guild of normal, less traveled wise men.

    Traits-
    Armed with but his staff and armored in humble traveling robes Eltar would not strike anyone as a figure of fear. But only a fool discounts the knowledge he possesses

    Nitori the Swordswomen

    Description- Fighter Class
    Nitori is a master swordwomen, traveling the roads in search of chances to increase her skill, and sometimes do a good deed on the side. Her skill is not yet legendary, but with each new victory tales about her grow.

    Abilities-First Strike, Indomitable Will
    Her skill with the sword comes from a foreign school that focuses on devastating first strikes. To slay their enemies with a single blow is the sign of their mastery, and so Nitori is a master of the first strike, ending foes lives before they can lift their own weapons to defend against her attacks. The sheer focus and power of will required to repeatedly do such deeds has given her an Indomitable Will, against which many foul spells have broken.

    Traits-Missile Immunity
    Such is Nitori's skill with the blade that she can cut down arrows and javelins in mid flight, forcing enemies to face her in her preferred range. Melee range. Unless they cheat and use magic, that is.

    Vendral the Pyromancer

    Description- Sorcerer Class (Dragon Disciple Prestige Class)
    Vendral the Pyromancer is a famous draconian sorcerer, a master of flame who has awakened his own sleeping draconic blood, calling forth the power of his ancient ancestry. Graduated from his former master's tutelage, he now walks the world in search of new challenges to burn, a search for mastery that will not end any time soon.

    Abilities- Flying, Breath Weapon
    Vendral, as a draconian, is a skilled flier, and has awakened the draconic power that lies within him to master the breath weapon that is his birthright. Of course, before you face his breath weapon, you must first run the gauntlet of his magical arts. Arts that leave most foes burnt to ashes.

    Traits-Fire Immunity
    While still young to walk the path of the ancient dragons, proof of his coming mastery lies in the fact that Vendral is already immune to flames. No fire burns hotter then the dragonflame which lies within his heart..

    Grogar the Horned

    Description- Barbarian Class
    Grogar is a powerful barbarian warrior come down from the mountains in search of fame and glory. Once the chief of a fierce tribe, his younger brother disposed of him in a horrible battle that shattered an entire cliff. Now he seeks to hone his strength in the wars of the Sorcerer Lords, so that when he returns no one will dare challenge him again.

    Abilities-Rage, Charge
    Grogar is a barbarian of horrible might, and like all barbarians is likely to fly into horrible rages when battle is joined, awakening only from the bloodfury when no one is left to slay. As a minotaur, he has mastered the arts of charging into combat, hammering down foes with his horrible horns. Indeed, such attacks are why he is known as 'the Horned'.

    Traits-Horn Attack
    Besides his great two handed axe, Grogar will also attack enemies in melee with his two great horns. He scorns armor, depending on his great endurance to let him survive his battles.

    Amanda the Tracker

    Description- Ranger Class
    The dark elf known as Amanda is a skilled tracker, born away from the cities most of her kind live in, and spending her entire life in the deep wilderness. In the end she grew tired of such a solitary existence, and rejoined civilization seeking friends and companionship.

    Abilities-Pathfinding
    Amanda is a skilled pathfinder, and is able to lead whole armies through the deepest of woods.

    Traits-
    Amanda, as a ranger, fights with a light crossbow and twin short blades. She often poisons her swords, but not her crossbow bolts. This is because she hunts with her crossbow, and would greatly prefer not to eat poisoned meat.
