    The state of the world!

OK. Tell us what you think should be done to fix the current world financial problems. Where do you think where heading? Who is making the mistakes? Who do you think can sort it out? Who really was to blame or is it inevitable in a capitalistic society where greed and consumerism is King?

Should we be socialists? Do we need a dictator as Hitler dragged Germany up out of the mire (obviously I'm not wanting War etc)? Is this the start of the downfall of Western Society? I mean no society has lasted yet, they all come to an end. I'm sure a Roman in the Republic thought it would last for ever at the height of it's powers. Is that an inevitable event? Should the Euro and European Union be scrapped as unworkable? Is it time now to realise it was a dream that can't work? Are the European powers flogging a dead horse?

Is it the end of the World on 21st (or is it 23rd) of December when we get smashed apart by planet X?

Or is this topic just to hard for us all to think about and we'd rather just play games and chat about other stuff?

    Discuss!

I think I've gone to far with this one....I don't blame you..I hate thinking to much too..

If there are no replies in the next couple of days then the verdict must be "Or is this topic just to hard for us all to think about and we'd rather just play games and chat about other stuff?"

    Everything dies dear.

I wish government had to spend money like I spend money. If I have no money, I have no money to spend. Seems kinda stupidly obvious, but then again, they get to print it, I can't. They shouldn't go around trying to run someone else's life if they can't run their own. Fix your own house before saying mine looks crappy. Don't make promises you can't keep. Don't steal from your left hand just to please your right hand.

I wish common sense was common.
Please don't go on about how cool it is I like wargames. It gets old.
Some of my comments are just me parroting his bitching.

When I saw the thread title, I was tempted to say, doesn't really matter, I am too old to care any more.

Wouldn't it be nice though if the world was run by people UNDER 25? Yeah it would be run by people that had very little experience and very little clue, but, one thing I have always believed, if you are too old to worry about the consequences you are likely too old to make the right choices. I doubt my son would make half the choices old men would make willingly.

Wise words J D'Arc. I think to be honest, very good words to end the debate (ahem) on. No more needs to be said.

Or vice versa. Youth is squandered on the young. People under 25 have ZERO sense of history, limited personal wisdom, limited understanding of other cultures, limited responsibilities and limited appreciation for other age groups and their lot in life. I'd not vote for any neophyte in any political office I can think of, mate.

I think the opposite argument holds more sway. People under 25 are too young to worry about long-term consequences and don't make the right choices. Wasn't it Churchill that said, "If you're 20 and you're not a liberal, you haven't got a heart. If you're 40 and you're not conservative, you haven't got a brain."

    Goodness me...

You've raised a number of questions here-each of which merits its own diatribe. Where to start first?

Let's see.....saving marriages and familys-keep them together. Enforce the laws of people coming into this country. Do away with the Obama health care and try to come up with something better. Set law's into place where companies cannot play with retirement accounts......enforce our law's for the victims not the law breakers.........and fill our churches again with beleivers in our lord Jesus Christ. If they don't love this country, then show e'm the door....free boat ride to North Korea or Iran.... well forget that .......with our nuke problems with them......that problem should have been solved already.....so send them to Pakeeee-Stan.

Nothing can be done about it. Or at least it can, but it never will be. The solution? Cap the world population at 2 billion max by investing in clean drinking water for everyone then adding a not quite totally effective contraceptive to it, adjusting the dose as necessary. Abolish all national boundaries and then just let people go where heck they want to go and do what they want to do. You would have a couple of years of minor territorial squabbles, then all problems solved and everybody happy.
