I am ok with Drow....but does it really always *need* to be spiders, when doing Dark Elves?

A departure could be creative...I'm a big fan of parasitic wasps (who often kill tarantulas in agonizing death)...would represent the drow's torturous nature.

I am pro-the Warhammer style Dark Elves. That is, pale skin and dark black / blue / purple hair. Similarly dressed in terms of wytches, sorceresses etc. Don't mind spiders but can we have you know, some variety? Black wolves? Dark wyverns?
