Game crashes during AI

I am playing the all pacific campaign as Allies. The game repeatedly crashes at turn 40 during the AI Japanese turn, specifically during the air strikes on British troops at Rangoon. It is always at the same point. I have repeatedly uninstalled and re-installed both from download and disc but this does not assist. It effectively means that I can only play 40 turns of the 339 turn campaign. Any suggestions please?
