    Hypnotizing Flame

    Hypnotizing Flame
    Circles: Fire, Mentalism
Description: A small ball of fire is created on the battlefield. Any units within two tiles of the flame must roll a will save or be forced to stare at it, thus remaining hypnotized. For each turn hypnotized, they cannot act. Any attack on the unit breaks the hypnosis, as does moving a non-hypnotized friendly unit near it. Once broken, the unit cannot be hypnotized again in that battle.

This one could be very useful. It seems like a good way to divide and conquer. Anyone have any concerns, suggested changes, or anything to add in general?

    Seems good to me.
I'd just add that units without eyes or are otherwise blind are immune.

Am I correct in assuming that any unit in the game whose lore includes being highly disciplined will naturally have higher Will saves?
If not, then the disciplined troop types need a bonus against this spell or be flat out immune.

Or - How hard would it be to implement something like this...
    • Have a base Will save at -2 or -3
    • Units then get a +X on top of the -2 where X is their tier level.

I like this spell a lot. What about "Hypnotic Flame" for a name, though?

    +1, Hypnotic sounds much better

I think I prefer the original name.

We may put the name to a vote

Will saves (like all saves) have a number of things that effect them. It's all being taking care of. I may explain it at some point, but it's basically just the D20 system. There may be a few tweaks here and there, but that will be it.

We need to add sight to the system. I had overlooked that up to this point. Thanks for pointing it out!

Hypnotic is way better, I think.
