Thread: Nuclear Bomb

    Nuclear Bomb

    Nuclear Bomb
    Circles: Fire, Destruction
Description: All units in a 5x5 tile area take 100 damage.

The name... well, I think you guys know, lol. Plus I'm not sure about having set damage. I mean, I understand that we would want to separate it from Fireball, but I'm not sure that's the way to do it.

    Ideas?

If people objected to gunpowder units I don't know how Nukes can possibly fit.

I'm fine with say Arquebusiers, but not Nukes.

I hate the name. Maybe "meteor strike" for a name?

    +1 Meteor Strike (fire?)

Could easily have the same spell effect in several elements
    Percussive Wave (Air)
    Hailstones (Water?)
    Avalance (Earth)
    etc.

I just noticed this... Fireball is a Tactical spell, correct? This spell is Strategic, so there's the differentiation.

I agree, however, that a fixed damage is weird. Maybe 5d20 + 20 (for example). I think a Meteor Strike would definitely have a wild fluctuation in damage.

How about Nova? Simple, to the point, and involving lots of fire.

As a strategic spell it is mechanically different from fireball, but conceptually I didn't want it to come across as "the big fireball". On the other hand, Nova is a good spell name, lol. Of course I think Meteor Strike could be a real winner and the damage dice could be divided between Fire and Bludgeoning damage
