OK, we all like the idea of BLANK Mastery as a global spell that effects all the spells of a single school. So, what should we name the mastery spells?
Here are the circles:

Here are the circles:
Spell Circles
Life - Divine Conduit
Death - Unholy Pact
Air - Sky Command
Earth - Harness the World
Fire - Amok Chaos
Water - Trident's Benefit
Augmentation - _______'s Amplifier (______ being Elannra's greatest augmentation specialist of lore)
Biomancy - Corporeal Capacitor
Destruction - Devastating Aura
Mentalism - Augur of Elannra
Protection - _______'s Bulwark (______ bieing Elannra's greatest protection specialist of lore)
Summoning - Ronaa's Yoke
I don't know if I like the idea of giving them all different names. Having a cycle of spells with similar nomenclature cues the players as to what to expect. It binds the game together in a easily understandable way. Having some degree of predictability in a game is important, because it gives the players something they can count on.
I have to agree with Troy_Costisick. <Circle> Mastery is more coherent and clear to the player. Plus, that means us the opportunity to re-use some of the sweet names ampoliros came up with. (I particularly like Divine Conduit and Ronaa's Yoke -- they'd make great higher-level spells.)
That's a very good point. "Focused <Circle>", "Focused <Circle> Mastery", or something along those lines?
I'm thinking we should have a template for the "elemental circles" and another template for the "effect circles", to state more the difference between the two "kind" of spell classification.
Like "Supremacy" for elemental circles ("Life Supremacy", "Fire Supremacy", ...) and "Quintessence" for the effects ("Augmentation Quintessence", ...) or the opposite ?
